STEP 3 - Getting to know your business

Your team is important

Once again, at the end of the previous catch up we will give you more homework, and once again it can be on paper or online.

We really need to understand your business now, as well as the team that is helping you to achieve your goals.

From years of working in various teams for other and for ourselves, it is very clear that an owners view of their team and their role is usually very different to that of the team themselves.

This is a very important part of a business.  The structure needs to be in place and clearly understood. Everybody needs to understand where they fit and what their job is.

We want to get a sense of how cohesive your team is.  Do team members overlap roles both between themselves and with you?

How can you hope to have some work life balance if you are the only one that knows your role?  The same goes for your team.

We also need to start to get into the meat of the business, the structure, the revenue streams, the costs, at a high level.  This is about us understanding your business by you clearly conveying your own understanding of it.  Often this step can provide a light bulb moment to owners.  Do you really understand your business yourself?

At the end of this meeting we need to make a decision.  We are at a new crossroad and that is commitment.

Are you ready to make a financial commitment to us and are we comfortable that we can help you to improve your journey?

If the answer is yes from both of us then we move on to Step 4 - First Analysis
